The Laurels, our specialist neurological rehabilitation and residential service located in Lincolnshire, recently held a successful open day to highlight the impressive upgrades made to their facilities. The event welcomed a diverse range of attendees, including residents, the team, local community members, NHS leaders, partner organisations, healthcare commissioners, and a special guest, The Right Worshipful the Mayor of Lincoln, Councillor Alan Briggs.
The open day provided an opportunity for guests to explore the newly refurbished living spaces, refreshed communal areas, and enhanced accessibility features. In addition, state-of-the-art therapy rooms were upgraded as part of the works, ensuring that the facility meets the highest standards of care and comfort for our residents.
One of the event’s most notable moments was the visit of Councillor Alan Briggs, who took the time to tour the refurbished areas and meet with the team. The mayor expressed his admiration for the work being done at The Laurels, saying, “It was a pleasure to visit The Laurels on the recent open day to see the fantastic work the team does with the residents in their service. Well done to all involved and thank you for inviting me.”
Simone Shepheard, Service Manager at The Laurels, shared her excitement about the recent developments, saying, “The upgrades have positively impacted the residents and team alike. The positive feedback received from attendees, who were impressed by the facility’s modern and welcoming environment, was also lovely to receive.”
With the refurbishment now complete, The Laurels is ready to continue its vital role in the community, offering modern, accessible services in a beautifully updated setting.
