Congratulations to Scott Chandler, Support Worker from our Care in the Home division in the North, who competed in the Great North Run from Newcastle to South Shields on Sunday 10th September, raising £370 for Spinal Research.

Scott said:

“I ran the Great North Run 2023 to help raise funds and to also raise awareness for Spinal Research. I have worked closely with spinally injured individuals for close to 10 years. I see the everyday challenges that they have to overcome, and I help them to live life without limitations and to enjoy a fulfilling life.

“One day I would like to see, through research and technology, a way that spinally injured people can live life without these challenges.”

Spinal Research is the UK’s leading charity funding medical research around the world to develop effective treatments for paralysis caused by spinal cord injury. Every year 1,000 people in the UK and Ireland are paralysed following an injury to their spinal cord.
