Lights, camera, action!

The individuals we support, alongside the Prospect Court activity team, enjoyed an unforgettable trip to Madame Tussauds in London.

Prospect Court is our supported living service in Sutton, where we provide individuals with the support they need in their homes, helping to promote independence and physical and mental well-being.

For some, it was their first time stepping into a world where movie stars, superheroes, and famous footballers come to life.

The individuals we support played a significant role in ensuring the trip would be fun for everyone, contributing to the planning with our colleagues and confirming their interest. One individual even helped distribute flyers around the service with support from colleagues to ensure everyone knew about the trip.

To ensure a smooth experience, our colleagues met with each individual to review the trip details, including expenses. Colleagues advised everyone to manage their finances and budget and set aside extra funds for the trip.

On the day of the trip, colleagues were assigned to support specific individuals, ensuring everyone had the assistance they needed to enjoy the experience fully.

Highlights from the trip included:

  • The excitement of seeing the real-life wax figures at Madame Tussauds.
  • An individual we support eagerly pointed out and described the football players’ wax figures and shared his knowledge of the wax figures, helping others understand who each figure represented.
  • The group learned fun facts about the Royal family.
  • Getting up close to the Disney section and seeing the superheroes.

Everyone had a fantastic time. The group returned home happy and fulfilled, with lasting memories of their day at Madame Tussauds. Even our colleagues couldn’t resist snapping selfies with their favourite wax figures!
