We’re pleased to announce that Bilberry Lodge, our new specialist mental health residential service for women, will open later this year.

Located in Rishton, Lancashire, Bilberry Lodge will undergo development in the coming months to create a welcoming, safe environment for residents in need of mental health care and support. This 6-bed service will provide a space where women can feel secure and supported.

Our dedicated team at Bilberry Lodge will include managers, mental health nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists, and support workers. The team will offer comprehensive care for adults with a range of (but not limited to) complex conditions, including anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).

Bilberry Lodge will be regulated by the CQC, ensuring it upholds the highest standards of care, safety, and support. Residents will be encouraged to explore new skills, take up hobbies, and engage in a variety of activities while residing at Bilberry Lodge, fostering personal growth and a sense of empowerment – key components of our pathway’s ethos.

Active Care Group Chief Executive Officer Keith Browner said, “Bilberry Lodge represents another step forward in our commitment to expanding high-quality mental health services across the UK. This new service has been designed with compassion, dignity, and empowerment – providing our residents with the personalised support they need to thrive.”

We are also very proud to share that the adults at our other residential mental health services within Active Care Group have chosen the service’s name. The name Bilberry derives from a native plant to Lancashire that can be found in the summer and autumn months.
