RCN launches “Introducing Critical Care” online learning tool

The RCN has launched a free online learning tool ‘Introducing Critical Care’, offering guidance and advice to all nursing staff and midwives responding to the pandemic.

This new online learning tool offers accessible, bite-sized online learning and resources covering the many aspects of critical care, from cardiovascular failure to gastrointestinal issues and printable flash cards. It aim to support staff who might not have worked in a critical care setting before, highlighting what it is like if you are redeployed to this area and helps to build skills and confidence.

‘Introducing Critical Care’ was developed by critical care nurses and specialists across the UK including input from the RCN Critical Care Forum. Sections range from 3-30 minutes of learning and the whole course can be completed in around 15 hours.

This learning will be useful to students and any staff interested in critical care. It is accessible through the website and the Starting Out app.  Members can log-in on the website and non-members will be prompted to sign up for a free account.  For more information please visit: https://www.rcn.org.uk/professional-development/professional-services/introducing-critical-care
