Phoebe, one of the individuals we support at Prospect Court – our residential service in Sutton for adults with learning disabilities and autism – recently made a positive change to her routine by joining a local fitness group. She’s been attending sessions run by a supportive coach, and has shared, in her own words, how the experience is helping her health and wellbeing.
“My name is Phoebe, and I have joined a fitness group session in Banstead, which is run by a lady called Tracey. She is very nice, very supportive, and very caring. I go to her group sessions because I need to lose weight as well, and I catch the bus from Sutton to Banstead.
And because I have autism, the person who runs it, called Tracey, understands me very well with my autism. I was going to another group session, but it was too far for me to travel.
Tracey runs her group sessions three times a day. It is very easy to follow, and you can lose a lot of weight if you stick to it. And you can still enjoy going out to meals and parties”.
Well done, Phoebe, for making a positive change!
