Nottingham Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre, our neurological rehabilitation service in Hucknall, have introduced bi-monthly wellbeing sessions for the team.

The wellbeing sessions will allow the team to take a 10-minute breather and regroup over a cup of tea and biscuits with their peers. They will also allow for informal chats with the support teams.

In addition, the service has introduced wellbeing bundles to support the team while at work, and at home. The bundles include:

  • deodorants
  • de-stress calming aromatherapy
  • cooling mists
  • female sanitary products
  • hand cream

Jenny Donald, our Matron at Nottingham Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre, said:

“I believe that the staff at Nottingham are brilliant, and I want them to value themselves and take as much care of their own needs as they do our patients.

“At Nottingham, we feel it is important to show we value our staff members and care about their wellbeing. We commenced the wellbeing drop-in sessions and put together some wellbeing comfort bundles, which were rolled out across the service. We have had a very positive response from the teams — the small things really have made a big impact which is great!

“Evidence suggests showing you value your team and making efforts to support their wellbeing improves staff retention. Supporting staff to keep physically and mentally healthy allows them to care for others more effectively, leading to a higher standard of patient satisfaction and experience.

“We want to improve staff morale and have a happy, healthy working environment which is productive for all.”

Well done team, and thank you to everyone involved.
