Ales joined the Murdostoun Brain Injury Rehabilitation & Neurological Care Centre team in December 2022. His previous posts include Head of Neurorehabilitation Services at University Medical Center Ljubljana and Clinical lead of Neurorehabilitation Unit at Institute for Neurological Sciences, Queen Elisabeth University Hospital, Glasgow.
Having graduated in medicine from University of Ljubljana he was trained in USA, France, Germany and Netherlands. Ales holds licenses in Neurology and Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine. Apart from his vast experience in clinical work and leadership he also brings broad understanding and practises in service development, research, teaching and patient organisations.
He has been member of European Academy of Neurology Scientific Panels for Neurorehabilitation and Neuropathic Pain and is a past director of the International Alliance for ALS/MND.
