Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre is a purpose-built facility set on a 3.5 acre plot surrounded by mature woodlands and well maintained grounds. The service has 27 en-suite bedrooms. 20 of our rooms have ceiling tracking hoists from the bedroom to the en-suite.

The team delivers high-quality and intensive neurological rehabilitation; physical, cognitive, functional and vocational assessments; behavioural management and complex disability assessments for adults.

We support patients with acquired brain injury, traumatic brain injury, severe neurological conditions, complex stroke and spinal cord injury. We can undertake SMART assessments for patients with Prolonged Disorders of Consciousness (PDoC) and create bespoke treatment plans.

The interdisciplinary team is led by a Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine. Patients benefit from access to our neuro-specialist team consisting of a Junior Doctor, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Neuropsychologists, Physiotherapists, Therapy Technicians, specialist Nurses and Rehabilitation Assistants.

Specialist Nurses are able to provide care to those with ongoing neurological nursing needs, diabetes, epilepsy, wound management, stoma care, enteral feeding and management of long term intravenous access points.

We receive input from other professions allied to medicine, including dietetics, orthotics, podiatry, wheelchair services and music therapy.

Through our person-centred and evidence-based approach to rehabilitation, we aim to maximise independence and recovery whilst equipping people with the skills to return home or to a supported environment.

Individuals and their family work with the MDT (multi-disciplinary team) to set goals around their physical progress, functional abilities, future independence, leisure and work activities, and communication. The service has a fully equipped therapy gym, occupational therapy kitchen, TV lounge, sun room, large reception area, dining room and leisure room.

27 bedrooms

Woodlands has capacity for up to 27 residents where we care and support them in their neurological rehabilitation.

En-suite bathrooms

Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms giving residents as much privacy as possible whilst in our services.

Gymnasium

We have a fully equipped gym space to allow patients to work on their functional rehabilitation goals.

On-site chefs

On-site chefs prepare nutritious meals for residents catering for all palettes and the dietary need of residents.

Landscaped garden

The garden area is always full of residents interacting, playing games enjoying a book or training their green thumbs.

Therapy kitchen

Residents are supported to maximise their independent living skills in a home environment as they progress through their rehab journey.
