We are delighted to announce the appointment of Kirstie Corfield as the new Group Director of Therapies at Active Care Group.
Kirstie brings over three decades of experience in neurorehabilitation, with a career defined by clinical excellence, service innovation, and a deep commitment to supporting people with complex neurological needs. She steps into the Group Director role from her position as Clinical Lead at Neural Pathways, our specialist brain and spinal injury rehabilitation and therapy company, a role she has held since 2021.
During her time at Neural Pathways, Kirstie played a key role in optimising and refining the Neural Pathways model – contributing to the growth and success of the business while helping to foster a culture of collaboration and innovation.
Reflecting on her time there, Kirstie said, “The last four years have been spent at Neural Pathways working with the utterly amazing ‘Purple Army’, further developing staff and the business. We have worked hard to promote and advance staff and services and integrate with other Active Care Group services.”
A specialist in neurorehabilitation, Kirstie qualified in 1993 from King’s College London and has spent the last 31 years working across the NHS, the Ministry of Defence, and in independent practice. Her experience spans acquired brain injury (ABI), traumatic brain injury (TBI), spinal cord injury (SCI), stroke, long-term neurological conditions, polytrauma, and community reintegration.
She has consistently been at the forefront of service development, passionate about driving improvements in care quality and providing therapists with the tools and opportunities to grow. “I have been lucky enough to work with incredible therapists in my career,” Kirstie explains. “I’ve enjoyed leading teams in developing services for clients and in accessing the right learning and development tools to not only enhance our clients’ rehabilitation but to build knowledge and skillsets across our therapy teams.”
In her new role as Group Director of Therapies, Kirstie will draw on her clinical and leadership expertise to support service development across the organisation, ensuring high-quality outcomes for the people in our care and continuing to build a culture of excellence across our therapy teams.
“I am very much looking forward to my new role and to meeting all the teams with whom I will be working,” she added.
Please join us in congratulating Kirstie on her new role and welcoming her to this exciting new chapter within Active Care Group.
