Kibblesworth Neurological Rehabilitation Centre near Newcastle opened its doors on Wednesday 15 May to show off their newly refurbished facilities to a group of local councillors, commissioners, and other guests. The open day was a celebration of the centre’s commitment to providing the highest quality care and rehabilitation for individuals recovering from brain injuries.
As guests arrived, they were greeted by the warm and welcoming staff who had done everything they could to make the service as homely and inviting as possible for the guests. Their chef had also prepared a delightful buffet, featuring an incredible assortment of sandwiches, salads, and cakes, which were enjoyed by all attendees.
Throughout the day, visitors were given guided tours of the living rooms, therapy rooms and gardens, allowing them to see first-hand the remarkable improvements made to the service. The tours highlighted the modernised therapy rooms, comfortable living spaces, and the beautiful outdoor areas where residents can relax and enjoy barbecues in the summer.
One of the highlights of the open day was hearing directly from the residents and staff about their daily routines and the positive impact the new facilities have had on their rehabilitation journeys.
Councillor Jackie Callaghan expressed her gratitude and admiration for the team’s efforts, saying, “Can I thank all the staff for our welcome today. It is a fabulous facility and both Councillor Mullen and I enjoyed the experience greatly.”.
Kayleigh Wonnacott, the Service Manager, shared her pride in the team’s hard work and dedication, saying, “I am incredibly proud of all the hard work our team has put into getting the service looking so great for the open day. Their dedication and passion are what make Kibblesworth a truly special place for our residents.
