Holybourne Hospital, our Acute Mental Health Service in London, hosted a barbeque in celebration of World Mental Health Day.

They played a range of games and activities including badminton and a football match in the garden with patients and staff across the wards, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. They also had lots of good food and conversation.

The patients at Holybourne Hospital commented on the day saying that they enjoyed the food, the football match, and engaging and interacting with staff and other patients across the Wards.

Matt Beavis, Hospital Director at Holybourne Hospital said:

“It was lovely to find out more about the skills and interests of our patients and staff. I had a particularly enjoyable conversation over lunch with one of our patients about some of the classics of English literature.

“It was a great match and event, and a great way of getting everyone together to engage and have fun. Thank you all for a great afternoon and for all you do for our patients and hospital – it is very much appreciated.”

Idris Opeolu, our Staff Nurse at Holybourne Hospital said:

“In all the time I have worked here, this event was the most fun. It didn’t feel like being at work.”
