Brownbill Case Management, one of our case management companies, have been working with Britain’s Got Talent star Eva Abley for six years. Since coming in fifth in series fifteen of the talent show, she has gone on raise funds for the Birmingham Children’s Hospital charity by hosting a ball, and many other fantastic achievements.
Eva has had cerebral palsy since she was born. Some of the symptoms of CP include shakes, which makes daily tasks others may find easy hard, for example writing by hand or carrying a tray to a table. She is able to do most things a non-disabled person may do but in an adapted way.
Brownbill Case Management have assisted Eva with many aspects of her life. Her Case Manager Laura Seager has provided help with clinical psychology, Support Worker recruitment, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy amongst others.
Eva’s latest achievement has been creating a video which aims to ‘spread the kindness’. In the video, Eva teaches the audience about what it means to have a disability and how it is okay to be different. The interactive video which can be used in schools, encourages watchers to pause and engage with the conversation, including what you think a disability is and how you may be able to help someone with a disability.
Some of the ways Eva encourages people to help someone with a disability is to be nice and invite them to talk to you and your friends. You can watch the full video here.
Eva continues to do stand up shows and raise awareness of her disability and how we can all be more kind. Brownbill Case Management have expressed how proud they are of Eva and all she has achieved in her life so far, they can’t wait to continue to work with her and see what she does next.
