Mental Health Awareness Week 2023 is from 15th – 21st May

Colin Mitchell, our Head of Health and Safety, and Team Mental Health First Aider, took part in the Gothenburg Half Marathon!

Colin is well known for his personal drive and commitment around promoting the valuable benefits of taking care of your mental health and wellbeing, by incorporating exercise and healthy habits into your daily routine.

Colin says:

“It’s Mental Health Awareness Week and the Mental Health First Aiders Group will be promoting a week of physical activity amongst our patients, people in our care, and colleagues by encouraging everyone to be active!

“Physical activity can help with mental health and alleviate stress and anxiety – we know lots of our people will benefit from being active.

“I decided to run in the Gothenburg half marathon this weekend, which was a truly memorable experience. The Swedish people really embrace wellbeing with socialising, physical activity, and enjoying the outdoors, placing it high on their agenda’s. I can see why they consistently rank as one of the happiest countries to live in!!”
