The results of our recent internal colleague engagement survey indicated to us that we can do more to support the mental health and physical wellbeing of everyone who works for Active Care Group. As a result of this, we have decided to make this a key priority for 2024.
We are going to do everything we can to create a positive working environment where colleagues and those in our care are able to thrive. Over the past 12 months, we have invested in Mental Health First Aiders, launched ‘Live Well Work Well’ via our internal app ECHO, and have promoted mental health awareness events with initiatives such as ‘Be Active’ — which was spearheaded by our health and wellbeing advocate, Colin Mitchell. We are therefore delighted to announce we have appointed Colin as Head of Health, Safety and Wellbeing.
Colin has an immense passion for fitness, and physical and mental health. Colin is also incredibly passionate about colleague wellbeing. In his new role, Colin will establish a clear wellbeing strategy and will no doubt be setting future challenges for everyone to get involved in.
Energised and excited by his new role Colin said:
“I am absolutely delighted to be appointed as ACG’s Head of Wellbeing alongside my current role as Head of Health and Safety. It is a great opportunity to continue the amazing work that has already been done in enhancing workplace wellbeing and engaging all our colleagues to live well and work well.
“I will be the central point of contact for workplace wellbeing and will be working for you to ensure we continue to make ACG a physically and psychologically safe place to work, as well as being as enjoyable and fulfilling as it can possibly be. I will do this by listening to your thoughts and concerns, learning how we can do things better and sharing great practices that are already taking place and then acting on your behalf to enhance workplace wellbeing.
“I am genuinely passionate about wellbeing in the workplace and recognise that looking after yourself mentally and physically can be particularly challenging especially when you are in a role supporting other people.
“I am looking forward to helping you to make your workplace an even better place to be! Stay Active!”
We wish Colin all the best in his new role!
