What does a Care Assistant do?
A key part of your role with us will be to give our service users the support they need to live independently as possible, ensuring their needs are met, from going out and participating in activities filled with laughter, or helping out with the weekly food shop, to being more hands on and helping with their rehabilitation or personalised care package with our multi-disciplinary team no two days are ever the same.
Companionship
As a Care Assistant or Support Worker you'll be someone's lifeline and best friend, providing them comfort and daily support.
Personal Care
Sometimes you'll have to help our services users with daily activities such as bathing, dressing and brushing their teeth.
Medication
You'll support our service users with the administration of medication as and when required as in their care plan.
Running Errands
Accompanying service users on their errands such as the weekly shop, helping them to be as independent as possible.
Managing Equipment
Some service users may need specialist equipment to help them get around. We'll train and help you maintain this.
Clinical Support
You'll be supported by a multi-disciplinary team including therapists, nurses, psychologists and doctors.
Moving & Handling
There may be times when you need to move equipment, or help move the service user due to physical impairments.
Socialising
This can be anything from going out with service users to spend time with friends, going bowling or watching the latest blockbuster.
Working with people to improve their quality of life.
