Wow! One of our dedicated nurses in the Remeo team, Andre Rodrigues set himself a target to cycle 300 miles in March to raise money for Cancer Research. Andre not only smashed his target but ended up managing a whopping 491 miles! Read more about Andre’s inspiring fundraising story below from his own words.

So, everything started late February when the challenge came up on my Facebook feed. “Cycle 300k for Breast Cancer Research”, and because I had seen other friends doing something similar that month, I decided to give it a go! I love cycling, and to be able to raise money for something that is so important was an extra push to do it. So, I started doing some research and told some friends that I was thinking about participating and their support was huge from the beginning. I set my first target to £200, and I was told that the race would finish in London where we would celebrate our achievements.  Due to the weather being wet and cold, it was a really challenging cycle for me, so I started cycling at home to get some miles in. After two weeks of watching the miles going up and up and seeing people donating, I felt really humbled and started thinking about setting myself new targets. My target was to double the 300k, and with everyone at work and on my social media sending me good vibes it made me want it even more. In the end, I managed to raise £300, cycle 491 miles and finish the last stage in London! It was such a good feeling being part of this group of thousands cycling for such a good cause. I will definitely do it again. I would like to say a big thanks to Rui Silva that supported me all the time and helped to make it “easier”! Thank you to everyone who donated, it was great to feel your support, and I cannot wait to see the money I raised helping people.
