A wide shot of people at the conference.

Our second annual Senior Leadership Conference took place on the 11 and 12 June in Northamptonshire. The conference brought together over 100 leaders from across the group. This year’s theme was ‘Good to Outstanding’, over the last 12 months our message of having the best tools, the best environment, and the best people, resonated across the two-day agenda.

Keith Browner, Chief Executive Officer at Active Care Group (ACG), opened the conference, sharing last year’s highlights and this year’s vision as well as welcoming our new colleagues. Uplifting presentations were also delivered by Chief Financial Officer Katy Lineker, Chief Medical Officer Dr Amit Chatterjee, Chief People Officer Karen Langton, Managing Director Jane Lewis Mark Gidalla, Managing Director Care in the Home Sally Kimberley, and Managing Director Case Management Janette Wynn.

As part of the introduction to the conference an inspirational video was played. The video, constructed to capture those magic and cherished moments showcased our people, their love for their jobs, their immense sense of purpose and personal reward, our vision and captured heartfelt sentiments from patients, residents, clients, and their families.

During the last 12 months we have significantly invested in our estate. Services are being refurbished and repurposed to create modern, homely, and safe environments.
As we continue our journey to invest, advance and enhance our digital landscape, our goal is to create an efficient, standardised approach to how we work today and in the future. The various workshops that took place, while being fun, challenged leaders thinking about how together we can take them to the next level  to outstanding.

Our digital, environmental and people investments will continue to shape our future and ensure we provide the best quality care to our patients, residents, and clients – while driving meaningful change.

As part of day one, we were delighted to welcome on stage our guest speaker, Nicolas Hamilton. Born with cerebral palsy, Nic was told he would never walk and would need a wheelchair for the rest of his life. Today he not only walks but he is the first disabled athlete to ever compete at the top level of British motorsport, The British Touring Car Championship, where he lines up on the grid alongside some of the world’s best drivers.

Nic spoke about being Lewis Hamilton’s brother, and how he navigated from being a young boy to where he is today. He spoke about the challenges, his anger, and his often vulnerability. It was an immensely powerful talk which left colleagues feeling inspired, it provided a different and emotional perspective.

In addition to the many warm welcomes and opportunities for colleagues to network at the various workshops and creative challenges, the weather was on our side, enabling our team to enjoy a superb evening BBQ and entertainment.

As part of the agenda on day two and with colleague wellbeing being a priority at ACG, Karen Langton and Janette Wynn, our Active Sisters, donned their activewear and led a quick fitness class to get colleagues up and out of their chairs.

Keith closed the two days with a passionate speech, thanking each one of our colleagues and once again sharing his immense sense of pride.

The event left our leaders excited about the future of Active Care Group!

Our leaders said:

“The workshops were brilliant and really encouraged us to think about ACG’s leadership principles. My highlight was Nic Hamilton and his inspiring speech, but I also enjoyed the evening festivities!”

“Both days from the presentations, guest speaker and workshops were all phenomenal.”

“I intend to implement small improvements in my service every day. I came away from this conference buzzing with ideas on how to make our service the best in the organisation. I am genuinely excited about the future.”
