Last week our London office had the pleasure of welcoming Ryan, an individual we support at Willowmead, for a special visit. Ryan, who has been at our supported living service in Surrey for the past ten months, spent the day meeting colleagues and the executive team, sharing stories, and of course, enjoying his favourite; a well-deserved cup of tea!

Ryan, who lives with learning disabilities, autism, and anxiety, is well known at Willowmead for his vibrant personality and love of a good joke. He is also a man of many interests—whether it’s local bus routes, music, karaoke, or gardening, he always brings energy and enthusiasm to everything he does. He also gives back to the service that supports him, as when the Willowmead greenhouse was damaged in a storm, Ryan took it upon himself to rebuild it.
During his visit to the London office, Ryan had the opportunity to talk about his 2024 podcast appearance on Active Care Group’s ‘Speak Active’, where he shared insights into his life, his passions, and his sense of humour.
Ryan also has a great sense of community spirit. After reading the newspapers every morning, he visits a local café for breakfast and chats with locals.

When he’s not out and about, Ryan enjoys spending time with his pet bird, Charlie and tending to his allotment.
He’s also a big comedy fan and was thrilled to meet at one of his favourites, Bobby Davro at Christmas, proudly keeping the photos on his phone.
Ryan’s visit was a fantastic opportunity, not only for Ryan to build on social skills, but also for the London office team to learn more about him and the great things he’s been up to at Willowmead. His enthusiasm, humour, and warm personality made the day a memorable one, and we hope to welcome him back again soon!
