On Saturday 13 July, the Active Care Group case management division took on Tough Mudder to raise money for Day One Trauma Support.

After weeks of training and mentally preparing for the challenge, members of the team from JSP Case Management, Northern Case Management, Pegasus Medical and Tania Brown took on the 10k muddy obstacle course alongside the division’s Managing Director Janette Wynn and Operations Director Stephen Neary.

The Tough Mudder challenge, renowned as one of the world’s most intense obstacle courses, includes challenges with names like the Kiss of Mud, Everest, The Block Ness Monster, Cry Baby, and Electric Eel.

The challenge was all to raise a goal of £5,000 for Day One Trauma Support, who help everyone affected by major physical trauma to navigate the challenges that they and their families face.

Here’s what some of the team have said about the day:
“It was amazing to complete a challenge like this with colleagues across the ACG case management division. The spirit of teamwork ran throughout the event, and it was so good to cross the line together. Congratulations to all who participated and helped raise some serious cash for Day One Trauma!” — Andrew Patterson, Business Director, JSP.

“I really enjoyed the day. Amazing team who helped one another overcome the obstacles. Feeling a little tender but certainly worth it to help raise money for such a great cause.” — Teresa Rey-Salomon, Business Director, TBL.

“They were not wrong… I’m physically a little broken, but I’m very proud to have finished it with the help and motivation of the amazing ACG team. We are all comparing bruises here but are very pleased we achieved it. It was a challenge, and a team one at that, but we smashed it!’ — Samantha Barker, Business Director, Northern Case Management.

“I did it, just about! Every part of my body is battered and bruised, but I am pleased to compete with the rest of the ACG team and proud to raise so much money for such a great cause!” — Rebecca Rose, Business Director, Pegasus Medical.

Janette and Stephen were great sports and promised they would complete the challenge in a fun costume to encourage even more donations to the cause. The costume they wore was a beans and toast duo and Janette said, “What a challenge, what a team and what a day!”

Through various fundraising activities in the run up to Tough Mudder and the event itself, the team has raised an incredible £3,000 so far. This money will go straight to helping Day One ensure that no one faces the impact of physical trauma alone.
There is still time to help the division reach their goal, please do donate if you are able to.
