Active Care Group’s Case Management Division have made a commitment this year to support Day One Trauma Support, a charity that helps anyone affected by major physical trauma to rebuild their life. Alongside taking part in a Tough Mudder race in July to raise £5,000 for the charity, we have partnered with Day One Trauma Support for this year’s Major Trauma Awareness week.
Major Trauma Awareness Week is taking place this year from 16-22 September. Major physical trauma affects thousands of people every year, with dedicated teams of professionals working around the clock to save and rebuild lives following the most horrendous injuries. Throughout this week, Day One Trauma Support will be championing the amazing stories of recovery that people make, and the challenges they face along the way, so there is a greater understanding of the long-term and complex impact catastrophic injuries have on people’s lives.
Janette Wynn, Managing Director of the Case Management Division said, “We are proud to be supporting Day One and the work they are doing to champion those affected by major physical trauma and their amazing stories of recovery. The case management division have worked closely with Day One for a while now and so it was important for us to support them in any way we can”.
Lucy Nickson, CEO of Day One Trauma Support, said, “We’re delighted Active Care Group has chosen to support Day One, helping ensure we can reach more people who need our support. We don’t receive any NHS or Government funding so rely on the amazing generosity from individuals and companies through fundraising and donations. We wish the team all the best with the Tough Mudder challenge and look forward to working with Active Care Group during Major Trauma Awareness Week, as together we make some noise, rally our community and show the long-term and complex impact major trauma has on people’s lives”.
To launch the campaign a House of Lords Reception will take place inSeptember, hosted by Day One Patron Baroness Lane-Fox of Soho.
