We’re honoured to be supporting Major Trauma Awareness Week, taking place 16 – 22 September. The movement was created by Day One Trauma Support to raise awareness of major trauma and the long-term and complex impact it has on people’s lives.
Day One Trauma Support are a charity that aims to make sure vital support is available to those who have experienced major trauma. They have been chosen as the Active Care Group case management division’s charity of the year for another year, with lots of exciting events planned to raise funds for the important cause.
For the launch of Major Trauma Awareness Week, we had the pleasure of attending a reception at the House of Lords hosted by Day One Trauma’s Patron, Baroness Lane-Fox of Soho, on Tuesday 10 September. Active Care Group’s Chief Executive Officer Keith Browner, Case Management’s Managing Director Janette Wynn, Operations Director Stephen Neary and Active Care Group’s Director of Marketing Laura Finlay were in attendance. It was a fantastic evening of meeting the Day One Trauma team and networking with those who share an interest in raising awareness.
Keith Browner, Chief Executive Officer at Active Care Group said, “I was honoured to attend an event where everyone in the room stands so passionately for the awareness of such a vital cause. Meeting the team behind the charity was enlightening and reinforces just how important it is that we, as an organisation, support the incredible work that they do. Thank you to the Day One team for hosting the event and we look forward to supporting them throughout the remainder of 2024 and into 2025.”
On Thursday 19 September as part of the campaign and our ongoing support, we will be participating in Day One’s ‘Go Orange’ day, in which we will be donning our best orange clothing and donating to raise money and awareness. We encourage you to take part and share your photos on social media, using the hashtag #GoOrangeforDayOne and donating to the charity.
We look forward to supporting Day One Trauma more throughout the coming months. For more information on them and their mission, please visit their website.
