Active Care Group is proud to announce that we have been shortlisted as finalists in the 2025 LaingBuisson Awards in the category of Nursing Team of the Year.
Now in their 20th year, the LaingBuisson Awards celebrate excellence and innovation across the UK’s health and care sector, recognising teams and organisations that set new standards in the delivery of care.
The nomination highlights the outstanding work of the nursing team at King’s Norton Hospital, our acute mental health service in Birmingham. The hospital supports adults with severe and complex mental health conditions and was recently rated Good in its first inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
The King’s Norton team have built strong therapeutic relationships with patients, working closely to identify personal goals and provide meaningful support throughout admission. Patients regularly share that they feel safe and well cared for, while external referrers frequently commend the hospital for its collaborative and professional approach.
Innovation has also been a key factor in this recognition. The team has been pioneering work around identifying and addressing neurodiversity within mental health services. By comparing the needs of current patient groups with the care available to them, the team are closing gaps in provision and reducing health inequalities for people in society that are frequently disadvantaged.
These nominations reflect the dedication of the staff at King’s Norton Hospital, who work tirelessly to deliver high-quality care and support patients with complex mental health conditions.
The winners of the LaingBuisson Awards will be announced at the awards ceremony on 20th November 2025 at the Park Plaza, London. We look forward to celebrating alongside colleagues from across the sector.
