In our first podcast episode, Sara Brown is in conversation with Karuna George, Clinical Team Leader at our adult acute mental health service, Holybourne Hospital in London. In this episode, Karuna discusses her career progression within Active Care Group and the way in which Active Care Group has supported her. .
Karuna started at Holybourne Hospital as a mental health nurse and quickly progressed to clinical team leader. Karuna said:
“There was a lot for me to learn as an international nurse from India, but I loved the job right from day one.
“I started at Holybourne Hospital as a mental health nurse. It was amazing. It gave me the opportunity to know my patients interests and needs, to raise any concerns they had, and to help give them person-centred care. I then quickly progressed to clinical team leader where I implement best practices and guidelines, ensure clinical standards are maintained, and support and advise the team members on my ward.”
