We’re proud to announce that Active Care Group (ACG) has been named finalists in four categories at the 2025 UK Company Culture Awards.

The awards celebrate organisations that nurture their workforce, invest in their people, and create an environment that promotes individuality and values everyone.

Active Care Group has been recognised in the following categories:

  • Best Company to Work For

This category recognises organisations that create an exceptional workplace culture and prioritise employee satisfaction and well-being. The judges found that Active Care Group is committed to inclusivity, development, and engagement, showcasing why our colleagues consider ACG the best.

Over the past 18 months, we have implemented impactful initiatives that have strengthened leadership, enhanced colleague engagement and fostering a sense of belonging.

Some of the initiatives include appointing a lead for well-being, introducing leadership principles, and launching our colleague app, ECHO.

  • Best Workplace Health & Wellbeing Initiative

This category has recognised Active Care Group for implementing outstanding initiatives to promote health and well-being in the workplace. Our nomination is based on how we embedded well-being into our culture and ensured it is championed at every level.

We demonstrated to the judges that health and well-being at Active Care Group have focused on physical, mental, social, and financial well-being.

One example is our new Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), which provides access to workshops, webinars, and training focused on stress management, resilience, and personal growth.

The EAP has a manager advise line to support line managers when dealing with colleagues who require resources, videos, and podcasts to support their mental and physical well-being.

Another example was the ACG Step Up Challenge, which invited all colleagues – and, where appropriate, those in our care – to participate by walking as much as possible during the month.

When our colleagues feel good, we know they will do their best for the people in our care.

  • Best Employee Reward Scheme – Stars of the Group

This nomination spotlights ACG’s reward and recognition scheme, which acknowledges and celebrates our colleagues’ contributions. Going beyond the traditional methods of motivating and retaining staff, the Stars of the Group Awards and The Night of the Stars showed how we have enhanced employee engagement, morale, and overall group performance.

Stars of the Group Awards is our monthly and quarterly recognition programme, culminating in the prestigious Night of the Stars Awards Evening in December.

The Night of the Stars Awards is a celebration of excellence, honouring the individuals and teams who go above and beyond to make a meaningful impact, not only on their colleagues but also on the residents, patients, and clients they so passionately support.

  • Best Culture Transformation Initiative

This category celebrates successfully implemented initiatives that transform workplace culture. ACG demonstrated strategies that promote inclusivity, engagement, and adaptability, resulting in a positive shift that has enhanced our colleague’s satisfaction and organisational effectiveness.

One such example was the launch of a campaign to make Active Care Group a leader in open dialogue and continuous improvement.

By appointing an independent Freedom to Speak Up Guardian, we demonstrated that we are fostering an environment where transparency, collaboration, and innovation thrive, ensuring that our teams feel valued, heard, and confident in driving positive change.

Our colleague app, ECHO, is also in the running for the Best HR Software or Tool award. This category celebrates innovative HR software tools that enhance human resource management and streamline processes. Unlike the other categories, this award has no finalists, and the winner will be announced on the night.

Karen Langton, Chief People Officer at ACG is delighted with the four nominations:

“I’m thrilled and so proud that ACG has been named finalists in four categories at the UK Company Culture Awards. We have been and continue to be on quite a journey, but this is recognition that all the hard work is paying off.

We know that creating a culture where colleagues feel safe, supported and recognised results in excellent patient, client and resident care, and we are seeing this with our improved regulatory ratings over the last few months.

ACG truly is a great place to work!”

Being shortlisted as finalists in multiple categories is an incredible achievement that highlights our dedication to fostering a positive workplace culture where everyone feels valued.

We couldn’t have accomplished this without our amazing team across the country – thank you!

We’re looking forward to the awards ceremony at the Hilton London Bankside, London, on Thursday, 1st May 2025.
