Josh, who has lived at Buttons, our children’s residential service for children and young people with complex health conditions in Wiltshire, is preparing to move into an adult placement after 13 years.
To help mark the moment, staff arranged a surprise visit from someone very important to him.
Josh has been a massive fan of motorcycle speedway for over a decade, with a particular admiration for world champion Jason Doyle. After reaching out to Jason, the team at Buttons was able to organise not just a message, but a personal visit.
Jason spent time with Josh at the service, interacting about their shared love of Speedway, watching clips together, and handing over signed memorabilia. It was a lovely gesture from someone Josh had looked up to for many years.
We’re sad to see Josh leave after so many years, and we wish him all the very best as he begins this new chapter in his life.
Thank you to Jason for his generosity and to our colleagues for organising the visit.
